Sharing Common Data

Data flows from the client profile to tax returns. If the Firm > Setting and defaults > Tax > Options > Allow the option to update the client profile when changes are made to a tax return box is selected, you also have the option to update the client profile when changes are made to a tax return.

Note: When the Firm > Setting and defaults > Setup Defaults > Automatically change sort name when client name changes box is selected, updating the client name in the tax return changes the sort name in the client profile to the new client name. In this event, if you prefer a unique sort name, you must change it in the client profile.

The data that is shared between client profiles and tax returns varies according to the client type.
